From some very rough Super-8 footage, we determined that Elton began this historical performance in a semi-formal white outfit:  long coat and top hat (embellished with the tail feathers of a Lady Amherst pheasant).

But as the evening progressed, he stripped off the coat and hat, revealing a blingy bib-and-brace outfit...
